Miss Sunset Strip Rises

As the old saying goes, patience is a greater virtue and thankfully Eclipse Sports Racing Club have had plenty of this when it comes to Miss Sunset Strip. Acquired from the 2023 Tattersalls Ireland Goresbridge Breeze Up Sale by LDS Bloodstock, she has always been a powerful looking filly.  She needed plenty of time as a two year old so was always trained on the easy side.  She finally made her racecourse debut last December at Kempton in a fillies novice over seven furlongs where she finished a very creditable fifth. She then had a break over the winter before returning to Chelmsford where she finished second on her first two starts of 2024 and was only beaten by a head on the second of those starts. Returning to Chelmsford at the end of April, Miss Sunset Strip finally picked up her first win under Adam Farragher by the shortest of margins in determined fashion.

Eclipse Sports Racing Club have been long standing supporters of the team at Southgate Stables so it is always a great pleasure when we get a win for this small racing club.  Having previously has success with Napping and Awtaad Prince, this particular ownership is headed by Steve Surridge and Adrian Storr.  Combined with several friends, they honored the passing of a close friend, Simon Pates, by naming the filly after the famous Sunset Boulevard in L.A. – a place that Simon loved the most.
