Sales season underway
The past few weeks have flown by. We had our first runner Pyla, who ran at Thirsk. It was a disappointing start, but thankfully having returned home safely the following day, we found that she was heavily in season which explains the lacklustre effort she put in. She lives to fight another day and we will be seeking to find another suitable race in the not to distant future. She does hold an entry in the sales at Tattersalls in late October.
Talking of sales, on Tuesday I added a Sir Prancealot filly to our string at Fairyhouse. She is a full-sister to a dual winner this year for Michael Bell in the shape of Notalot and is out of an unraced full-sister to the useful sprinter Prime Defender. She has been bought on spec and is for sale, as are the two yearlings I secured from Doncaster last month, so please do get in contact and join their journey to success.
The jumps horses are coming along well, they are just beginning to step up in their work. At this stage it is looking likely that Mariah’s Legend will be my first runner in the National Hunt sphere, I am looking towards a bumper in the second week of October for her, providing we get some rain as I would want good safe ground for her. She is a lovely mare, being a half-sister to Pendra, by a stallion in Flying Legend that my father had a lot of faith in, having purchasing him from Ireland to stand at Shade Oak Stud. We hope she will be a nice prospect.
All the press interest in the yard has helped to get my name out in the public domain and I am very grateful. I would like to thank each of the different media channels, which has not been restricted to the racing media, for taking an interest in Hamilton Stables. The Attheraces and Racing UK features can be viewed on YouTube.
